- Located in the heart of medieval Perugia close to historical sites
- Splendid views over the Umbrian valley below
Hotel SINA Brufani is a splendid example of an Italian five star luxury hotel set in the heart of medieval Perugia, with fantastic views of the city and the Umbrian hills beyond. The unique position of the hotel means it is situated on a hilltop but also positioned within the historical centre of Perugia and is walking distance to the main sites.
Rooms are decorated traditionally with antiques and sumptuous fabrics and the whole place evokes nostalgic feelings of times gone by. The crowning glory of the SINA Brufani is surely the small indoor pool, where you can swim over the glass bottom and admire the Etruscan ruins below. Enjoy the pleasures of expert treatments from the spa and finish your days feeling at home in the traditionally English styled bar.

About the location
Rising from the countryside in a jumble of medieval buildings, Umbria’s capital city offers an enchanting blend of history, culture and lively student energy. The tower of the 15th-century San Domenico Basilica stands tall above the city’s centro storico, while across town lies the historic University of Perugia.
Rocca Paolina fortress is one of the city's top attractions, offering miles of underground passages and an impressive history entwined with revolt and war. From acclaimed museums to ancient churches, and from rambling streets to spacious piazzas, the city is an oasis of authentic Italian sights and sounds.
If you only visit one part of the town, we recommend the Piazza IV Novembre and surrounding area. Illuminated prettily at night and bustling throughout the day, this historic square is right at the heart of Perugian life. The adjacent Palazzo dei Priori is also worth a look in – it contains some of the city’s best galleries, including the Umbrian National Gallery.

Great hotel and staff
Only problem we had was on the Saturday evening people were making a lot of noise in the passages and ringing the bell for our room at 11pm. The windows were also not sounds proof so could hear the cars on the road.
But other than that recommend the hotel

The hotel first opened its doors in 1884 when celebrated hôtelier Giacomo Brufani spared no expense to emulate the finest luxury hotels of Europe. Today the honey-coloured facade still houses elegant guest rooms and magnificient public spaces. On my last stay I was upgraded to a suite on the 4th floor of the Bellavista (the 1930s extension of the hotel) that indeed provides a "bella vista" giving guests breathtaking views of the nearby hills and valley. Both the corridors and the accommodations on the 4th floor feature exposed wooden beams, tastefully hand-painted walls and original artwork in a blend of pastel hues forming the basis of a relaxed stay. The suite was appointed with a stunning marble bathroom with double basin and jacuzzi, a king bed and separate sitting and working area with oversized desk and two large modern LED TVs. Designed over a century ago to meet the demands of travelling nobility Hotel Brufani continues to deliver hospitality at its best.

We called yesterday on our way to the hotel to enquire about our parking and other stuff. They didn’t answer the phone for 30 min. When we checked in room was super warm so we called reception for 30 min. No answer in spa sauna and hammam was cold and turned off. Honestly this is no way near a 5 star hotel.

Wonderful hotel, great friendly staff from management to room staff.
Position 5 stars views are stunning. If you don't get a room with a view, then it's no problem as the hotel is positioned at the highest point of Perugia, and there are great views everywhere.
Nice pool with glass floor looking onto Etruscan ruins.
Breakfast is faultless, run by a meticulous lady who conducted the busy breakfast time like a fine tuned Opera. All sorts of things to eat, impossible not to find something you like.
Hot drinks replenished as you order.
Reception very helpful and kind
Great Bar with well made cocktails 🍸
Valet parking and luggage all talen care of by a group of terrific porters.
Fantastic hotel and I cannot wait to get back.
We were a group of Scottish connoisseurs of La Dolce Vita.
All were delighted
Thank you Brufani for a great week

What a wonderful hotel. Stunning location, astounding views, wonderful attentive staff and great food and drink. And the underground pool is sensational. The rooms are supremely elegant in a traditional Italian and the whole experience oozes class, style and comfort. However, as the title suggests, little things matter. The dressing gowns are way too small and a bit threadbare. Same with the towels. And offering powdered milk in the room for tea and coffee really does belong to a bygone, less good age. If it wasn’t for these it would be a five star review.
