About the location
Holidays in Lucca take you to the beautiful Tuscan countryside in the heart of Italy. This Renaissance town is home to 16th Century architecture and historic sights, with the vineyards and rolling green hills of Tuscany just outside its walls.
Perfect for a city break or part of a longer trip, spend your holidays in Lucca partaking in the ancient Italian art of people watching in the relaxed cafés and family run trattorias lining its streets and bustling Piazzas. Wander the streets or hire bicycles and stop off at the many beautiful sights, before heading into the countryside for wine tasting, exquisite cuisine and spectacular photo opportunities.
Day trips are a must on any holiday in Lucca. Florence’s Renaissance architecture and wonderful artworks are just over an hour away by train or car. Visit the leaning tower of Pisa or the town of Livorno which dates back to the 16th Century. Both are under an hour away.

Rooms very comfortable, large enough for what you need and spotlessly clean.
Lots of restaurants nearby and the train station is a short walk away.
Already thinking of coming back next year!

A really nice hotel in a fantastic location. Very friendly staff, everyone we met spoke English, we had an average size ground floor room. Five minute walk to the walls and adjacent to one of the gateways into the old city (in which some of the rooms are situated in one of the towers) Good choice of Continental breakfast with bacon and scrambled eggs also available. All self service apart from the tea and coffee and it’s a pity they don’t give you a teapot and a cafetière as every time you want a refill you have to ask a member of staff, and they get very busy. Breakfast served from 7.30, we had to miss it on our last day as we had an early flight home. A brilliant feature is the free buffet every day from after lunch until 7, with nibbles, cakes, pastries, Prosecco and a tea and coffee machine. The bathroom was stylish but had some impractical features, no information as to now to use the shower but we worked it out though the taps were stiff and difficult to operate. There was no rubber mat to use in the shower and no door to it so the surrounding floor got soaked, and was lethal when wet, but towels etc were regularly changed. Adequate supplies of tea and coffee, for the strange English like us there is a nearby supermarket where we obtained a large bottle of milk which saw us through our stay - there’s a mini fridge in the room plus the usual safe etc. Storage space just about OK though more would have been useful. Staff unfailingly helpful, booked us taxis etc. Recommended.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home in this lovely friendly hotel. The staff were charming without exception. Check in was seamless with a very helpful and informative lady on the desk. The room was small but perfectly adequate for our 3 night stay, The bathroom had a walk in shower, controls & heating very manageable. Breakfast was plentiful with both continental and hot food, and attentive staff. And the hotel offers complimentary Prosecco and nibbles for a couple of hours every evening which was very welcoming . Nothing but praise for Ilaria, we would definitely be back here should we find ourselves in Lucca again.

Four of us stayed for a long weekend at this hotel and cannot over praise it.
It is well located a very short distance from one of the arched entrances to the town. It is modern and well appointed and very clean. Breakfasts were superb and set us up for the day and there are complimentary aperitifs in the late afternoon.
Reception staff were extremely helpful in providing information and restaurant recommendations and arranging airport transfers. We took the train to Florence (having done this journey several times before) but unfortunately it broke down and we were left stranded at a tiny un-manned station. The promised replacement bus did not materialise. We couldn’t find a local taxi or bus and in desperation telephoned the hotel who couldn’t locate a taxi either but instead sent their junior intern Stefano to collect us in his own car to return to Lucca. He was a credit to the hotel and I cannot imagine receiving such fantastic customer service in the UK. Apart from this blip, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend this hotel.
