Syracuse is one of Sicily’s most beautiful cities. It’s a real historic gem, filled with a unique mix of Greek, Roman and medieval monuments, as well as Renaissance and baroque-era art and architecture.
You’ll need plenty of time to get to grips with Syracuse; in this excursion, an expert guide will walk you through the city’s highlights, including its archaeological sites. You’ll discover Sicily’s largest Greek theatre, see the Altar of Hiero II and visit the cave Dionysius’ Ear, where prisoners’ whispers were once brought to the surface by its acoustics.
Afterwards, you’ll visit Syracuse’s old town of Ortigia to wander its picturesque cobbled streets, visit the majestic cathedral and experience its elegant shops and cafes.
