Palermo, Cefalù and Taormina

Arrive in Palermo airport and pick up your transfer to your hotel, settle in before enjoying some typical Sicilian food in one of the local restaurants.

On your first full day in Palermo, we recommend you visit the Cattedrale di Palermo which is a truly fascinating building and sample the local life at Palermo's food markets, be sure to try the Arancini.

Car hire is the easiest way to get around Sicily but for those who do not want to drive take a private transfer to your next destination of Cefalù.

Relax on the sandy beaches of Cefalù, be sure to visit La Rocca for panoramic views of the town. Cefalù is a quaint historic town with winding medieval streets which are largely pedestrianised, filled with many restaurants serving the freshest fish. 

Travel south-east to your final destination, Taormina. Start off early so you can enjoy a full afternoon exploring the town, stop by one of the many shops on Corso Umberto.

Taormina is perched at the top of Monte Tauro in the foothills of Mount Etna on Sicily’s Eastern coastline, between the cities of Catania and Messina. This ancient town offers visitors a view into the past with a number of elegantly preserved historic treasures.

There are many things to see and do in Taormina. Some of the must-see sights are the majestic Mount Etna, the ancient Greek Amphitheatre and the nearby town of Syracuse or even the UNESCO site of Ragusa.
