Lipari is liberally dusted with great areas in which to position yourself and admire the beautiful terrain and views across the Tyrrhenian Sea, but the top spot on the island is arguably the viewpoint known as Quattrocchi (Four Eyes). Set high above Lipari’s populated main town, this lookout is a challenging walk for even the seasoned of hikers, given that in the summer months, temperatures can peak at 35c degrees, so make sure you bring plenty of water. Once at the top, you’re treated to incomparable views of the cliffs that line the island’s edges and, situated surreptitiously in the distance, sits the neighbouring island of Vulcano.
