Lungomare is the main sandy beach in Cefalù, and is a fantastic place for tourists and locals to enjoy the warm Sicilian sunshine. It runs alongside a promenade lined with cafés and restaurants, and runs for just over five kilometres, leading up to the old town. There are plenty of lidos during the summer months where you can pay a fee for sunloungers and umbrellas, but there are also public areas that you can enjoy for free. It’s a popular beach with families due to the shallow waters and lifeguards on duty. During July and August it can be very busy, but the atmosphere is enjoyable.
