The small town of Alberobello is often the symbol of Puglia with its unique landscape comprised of Trulli houses, that have the appearance of small huts and feature conical roofs. This historic town has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996 and is often a top spot to be visited for those travelling to Puglia. Whilst its becoming more of a tourist destination it still retains its traditions with small focaccerie, butchers and cafes dotted around the town and visited by the locals.
On this visit you get to take part in a wine tasting at the Enoteca Wine Tholos which was founded in 1985. The host, Gino will talk you through the various regional wines including a red, white and rosé. Each wine is accompanied by a generous helping of snacks to compliment the wine, you'll get to enjoy sun-dried tomatoes with your rosé and bite-sized sandwiches with your red among other delights. You'll even finish the tasting with a shot of basil-flavoured liqueur. With over two hundred Apulian wines in their collection as well as well known wines from around Italy you'll have plenty of choice if you wish to buy some wine to take away with you.
