About the location
Visible for miles around, Ostuni is a gleaming tumble of painted buildings and dramatic brick-built palaces, perched almost entirely on a steep hilltop. Ostuni’s whitewashed centro storico lends the town its second name as the ‘White City’ of Puglia, and there are few places as atmospheric found anywhere else in the region. Most visits begin with a walk through the old town, towards the mighty duomo towering high above the Puglian plains. It’s a steep ascent, but one that’ll take you through some of the most magical of Ostuni’s streets: think white-walled passages with uneven floors and pretty cafes tucked into sheltered courtyards. The views at the top are well worth the climb, and the beautiful 15th-century cathedral with its 24-pane rose window is quite a sight, too.
The town’s bar and restaurant scene is richly authentic, with quaint trattorie serving local favourites such as orecchiette – a small, ear-shaped pasta that’s generally eaten with vegetable-based sauces and often served alongside a handsome house red. For true wine connoisseurs, one of the local wine tours is a must-do, taking visitors into some of the region’s finest wineries.

Ostuni is 58 miles from Bari airport and 23 miles from Brindisi airport. We recommend hiring a car in your destination. Simply call us once you’ve completed your booking and we will talk you through the options.

Hotel Monte Sarago's location is very handy, just a ten-minute walk from "la Città Bianca". We stayed one night on 19th March and very much enjoyed our visit. We were made very welcome on arrival by the staff at reception who very willingly offered all the information we needed, we left our car in the very large and safe car-park available free of charge, our room was very spacious and comfortable, and at night we had an excellent meal in the hotel dining-room where on top of the food we enjoyed a wonderful view of "la Città Bianca" and its lights and the good services of Marco and Antonietta who spoilt us.
We would like to thank all the staff we met : Paola, Leonardo, Teresa, Maria, Graziano, Gabriele at reception, and last but not least Marco and Antonietta over dinner and breakfast, for their top-quality service and their very natural and warm welcome. We could not have found a better place to stay.

Fabulous hotel in Ostuni which is very central to many of the Puglia sites and in a great accessible location. The service is impeccable. Kudos to Grazziano who made sure to satisfy all our special requests. Gabriel and Paula provided a warm welcome and professional service. The hotel parking is right across the street which is a major advantage to this hotel. The breakfast is superb. Shout out to lovely Antionette who provided excellent service. The rooftop restaurant looks amazing even though we didn’t eat there. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the historic center and is about 6 miles from the main road, which passes through the most beautiful olive groves ever seen.

Best hotel of four different hotels while on a two week trip through Puglia. Everything was top notch. We stayed twice for six days total, with a 4-day separation between the two visits. The rooms and all facilities were immaculate and in complete working order. The front desk staff were welcoming, kind and professional. The breakfast buffet was extensive, with fresh fruits, juices, meats, cheeses, a wide variety of breads and pastries, and eggs/bacon.
It's a short walk up the hill to the main piazza where there are many bars and restaurant options. There is a roof top restaurant and bar, which has a limited pizza and meal menu. The menu was limited and the food was adequate, so I honestly can't gush about this aspect of the accommodations-but that certainly would not stop me from returning or recommending this hotel to anyone. Parking is also available for free in the secrured lot just in front of and across from the hotel. Best of all - it was of the least expenses hotels that we stayed at between Bari, Lecce, Gallipoli and Ostuni.

Although it is very well located, the hotel does not have a pool. The rooms we were given were very small. The elevator works strangely and crashes or it goes to the wrong floor. The buffet is very good. And the order of the room location is very strange.
