Hotel Giardinetto sits right on the shores of Lake Orta, with its own private landing stage and is 2 miles from the town of Orta San Giulio; this is as close as you can get to lakeside living in this picturesque corner of the Italian Lakes.

Spend the day relaxing by the swimming pool (normally in use May to September) and sun terrace or on the sun deck positioned on the lake. The guest rooms are comfortably furnished and the lake view rooms offer a beautiful vista. The hotel restaurant is renowned for its local specialities and fish dishes, and the terrace provides a wonderful setting for dining late into the evening.

Citalia recommends this hotel for its tranquil and slightly isolated location. For added freedom and flexibility, we suggest car hire.

The hotel has 59 rooms (official rating 4 star). Citalia does not accept children at this hotel, however this is not an adult-only property.

The Hotel Giardinetto Restaurant is renowned for its local specialities and wide selection of wines. Guests have the option to dine inside the fine restaurant with views out to the lake or on the fantastic terrace situated directly over the water. During summer evenings candlelit dinners can be enjoyed under the gazebo on the terrace which is decorated with flowers and candles. A separate informal lunch menu is available during the summer which includes snacks, salads and light lunches.

The bar serves a vast selection of Italian and international beers, wines and spirits and refreshing cocktails. There is also a drinks service on the beach.

About the location

Just two miles along the coast from Orta San Giulio lies Pettenasco, a tiny lakeside comune best noted for its handful of excellent restaurants. Its medieval houses, small beach and pretty harbour also help make it one of Lake Orta’s most picturesque locations – we highly recommend exploring the village on foot to truly appreciate its beauty. The local restaurants focus on serving locally sourced cuisine, plus there are often some great wines to enjoy alongside your meal, too.

When it comes to getting out and about, it’s easy to reach the nearby town of Orta San Giulio, which is just around the cove. Best known for its jaw-dropping island, Isola San Giulio, this pretty town is a great place to spend an afternoon strolling the medieval streets or enjoying the views from the lakefront promenade.
