About the location
The charming town of Desenzano lies on the southern banks of Lake Garda, gazing out towards the Alps. With three large beaches and numerous cafes along the lake’s waterfront, it’s easy to relax here. Spend some time walking the pleasant historic streets up to the town’s Castello, where you can enjoy wonderful views over Desenzano, visiting the impressive Roman villa or marvelling at the cathedral's 16th-century architecture. There are plenty of shops dotted around the town, with everything from well-loved high street shops to charming, individual boutiques.
Desenzano is a great base for explorations of northern Italy. Lake Garda’s other towns are accessible by regular ferries and the cities of Milan, Verona and Venice are easily reached by train.

Could not fault it
Location is one short street from the main drag and also close to station for Verona visit
Anything you need to know - directions, where to eat etc ask Mario - he very kindly mapped out our Verona visit perfectly

The hotel was excellent. We had a lovely, spacious room with a good-sized shower room. The hotel was very clean and the decor really good. All the staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. They advised us on travel, events and restaurants. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. Unfortunately we did have some rain during our stay but the hotel had a good supply of umbrellas which they let guests use. The Hotel Nazionale is less than 5 minutes walk from Lake Garda and about 10 minutes walk from the railway station. It is in a great location. I will definitely return.

My wife and I chose this hotel after looking at a number of others and it was a good choice.
We wanted a pool and good facilities with good location for both train station and lake front and this hotel fitted perfectly.
Better value than many others because it isn't cheap in Desenzano if you want a class hotel with good facilities.
Quality breakfast and sizeable bedroom.
Friendly staff and great pool area.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and no hesitation to recommend.

This was my fifth time of staying in this hotel and, as always, it didn’t disappoint. From the warm welcome upon our arrival to the ample breakfast we couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. Even on the one rainy day we were able to hunker down in the lounge with a couple of cold drinks and some snacks.
