Walking Tour of Rome
This tour begins with a scenic drive along Via Cavour in an open top bus, offering views of some of Rome’s most iconic landmarks, including the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica and the Colosseum. The bus will then take you to Piazza Venezia, where you will get off to embark on a wonderful walking tour led by your local guide. Prepare to uncover the secrets and historical events connected to Rome’s most famous monuments.
Your journey will take you to the magnificent Trevi fountain, Rome’s largest and most renowned fountain. As you walk through the heart of the city, you’ll cross the famous Corso Street and admire landmarks such as the Column of Marcus Aurelius, Montecitorio Palace (home to the Italian Chamber of Deputies and Parliament), and Piazza della Rotonda, dominated by the impressive Pantheon.
Continue to marvel at the city’s beauty with visits to Palazzo Madama, the seat of the Italian Senate, and the splendid Piazza Navona, one of Rome’s most celebrated squares, designed in a grand style by the Pamphili family under Pope Innocent X.
Finally, the tour will pass by Castel Sant’Angelo before concluding at St. Peter’s Square, the centre of the Catholic world, where you will receive an explanation of the Basilica from the outside, with an opportunity to receive the Papal blessing on Sundays.
