Hotel River Palace

Pros .Staff was friendly and very responsive immediately to any requests .The breakfast was very good .The lounge was nice and bar service was great .Hotel is in a great location - you can walk to most sites Cons .We recommend that you do not stay in rooms 101-104! All guests have to take an elevator from 0 - 1. Then walk down the hall to the elevator to floors 2 -10. They all walk past these rooms and usually are talking an loud. From 4:00 - 6:00 am they are bringing down luggage to check-out and the halls have tile floors, so it’s very loud. Our sleep was disrupted constantly until 10:00 pm and after 4:00 am. .The hotel has very uncomfortable rooms .There is no restaurant in the hotel - only breakfast between 7:00 - 10:00 am and the bar from 5:00 - 10:00 pm .This hotel is not friendly for single women traveling alone or when it rains (which it did during our visit) .There is no coffee or tea service in rooms, so there was no where to get coffee or tea before 7:00 am unless you want to go next door and buy it! .The hotel has tiny rooms with one chair - for two people? .There is a tiny bathroom and a shower only for small people. Anyone over 5’6” would not be able to use it. .The toilet area was so small that any one who is large would have trouble. .You can only adjust the temperature by calling the desk. .We had to request tissue, an extra chair, extra luggage rack, extra blanket. The staff responded within minutes. .There us no tourism information available in the lobby. .Most hotels today have USB ports. None here and one outlet with two plugs which require converters.

Just returned from our trip to Rome and stayed 3 nights in the River Palace Hotel. Our stay was wonderful, lovely clean double room with big bathroom and robe, slippers, toiletries. Bed was made daily and no sound at night. The reception staff were great, very friendly and helpful with directions, places to eat etc. It is located directly opposite the square and entrance to all the landmarks, very easy to find and felt safe walking around at night. Would definitely return to this hotel.

This was our second stay at the River Palace Hotel, the first was in 2019. We loved it again! We only wished we were there more than one night. The hotel is beautiful, luxurious, reasonably priced for the opulence, with lovely appointments. We didn't get to enjoy the bar and lounge seating area this time, but enjoyed it on our last trip. The front desk staff is very friendly and accommodating, even scheduling our car back to Fiumicino airport. The included breakfast is divine, and the dining setting is lovely, with outdoor/patio seating as well. Finally, the hotel is in a great location, close to the Borghese Gardens. We will definitely be back!
