A lot of research went into this trip. I browsed probably a hundred hotels up and down the Amalfi coast before deciding on where to stay. We chose this area because of it's affordability and to get away from the crowds. Don't get me wrong, there are still a lot of people, but nowhere near staying in Amalfi, Positano or Sorrento, and those are still easily accessible via bus, taxi or ferry (there is a ferry directly from Maiori).
Hotel Pros: Beautiful location. Room was very spacious! 2 large beds, double sinks, large shower. This was a much nicer hotel than the pictures showed. There is a decent sized buffet breakfast with omelet bar. This area is also opened for dinner, which was very good. Pool is nice, water is chilly but refreshing when it's so hot. The bar is open almost all day and the cocktails are quality. It is hard to find a hotel that has both a pool and breakfast. There is also direct access to the beach right across the street. The hotel has it's own area of sun-loungers, which you do have to reserve and pay for, but that is typical on all of Amalfi.
Hotel Cons: if you stay in the rooms facing the beach, be aware that the main Amalfi road runs right in front (small road but the sliding door does little to mute sound). Since the town nearly closes in the middle of the day, people stay out late. There is a lot of road and people noise that goes on until very late. There was a wedding on one day we stayed, and a concert across the street the next night (these went on until 2/3am). There is also not a lot of space around the pool, so limited lounge chairs.
I gave 5 stars because road noise is not something that could be helped, and for the quality of the hotel, with the amenities, it's a very good deal!

It exceeded my expectations! This hotel is awesome! It has a nice pool and it is right on the beach. Fully functioning ac and wonderful staff. The rooms are remodeled, looking very nice and new, and clean. Breakfast is fantastic! We LOVED our stay here. The best hotel! Eat at Donna Maria, it is off the Main Street but delicious and well priced. We loved our stay and would come back. It’s a small town, perfect for families

Maiori is a wonderful town with the Amalfi Coast vibe, but not as busy and crowded as Positano and Amalfi. The location of the hotel is perfect because you are within walking distance to many great restaurants and shops and about a 10min walk from the ferry terminal. The ferry is very convenient and fast when traveling in between towns, for example Amalfi and Positano. Can't say the same thing about the bus system, very unreliable.
The hotel is clean and updated. Nothing fancy. They offer a pool with 2 diving boards, and they also have a reserved beach area across the street. Umbrellas and chairs must be rented from the hotel for $16 for a full day (1 umbrella and 2 chairs) or $30 for half day.
They also provided a breakfast buffet with an omelet station, fruit, yogurt, cheese, bread, etc. The staff is very helpful and did their best to make us feel welcome.
Hands down would stay here again on another trip!

Overall reasonable value for a four star that appears to be more like a three star.
