The quiet, historic town of Maiori is home to the Amalfi Coast’s longest, unbroken sandy beach. With ancient architecture, several authentic restaurants and beautiful scenery, Maiori is a destination by itself, but the stunning stretch of sand is its real claim to fame. Often overlooked in favour of some of the Amalfi Coast’s more popular towns, Maiori manages to maintain a tranquil ambience, and the beach is at the heart of this. The beach is great for soaking up the sunshine or splashing around in the sea, and is also well served by nearby restaurants. Of these, the best is the stunning Torre Normana, which offers stunning views and excellent cuisine from the top of a Norman fortress.
