About the location
Conca dei Marini is a tiny fishing village commune with just a handful of amenities, yet there is a quaint rural charm here that can’t be found in many other places along the Amalfi Coast. Relatively untouched by tourism, Conca dei Marini is perhaps best known for being the home of the hidden Grotto dello Smeraldo – a remarkable karst cave that rivals the Blue Grotto found in nearby Capri. Journey inside and the cave will divulge its secret feature – an inner chamber where visitors can witness a dazzling reflection of bright emerald light as the sunlight is dramatically refracted. Elsewhere in this cliffside village you can find a smattering of authentic restaurants, often with mesmerising sea views, as well as a sleepy marina that perfectly encapsulates the charm of the Italian coastline. Better still, Conca dei Marini is just a short drive from Amalfi and Furore, making it easy to explore these stunning towns during your getaway.

We stayed here for 2 nights in August for our anniversary and it was beyond perfect for us. The front desk personnel were so friendly and helpful booking our dinner reservation for the same evening when I emailed them on our way because I had forgotten to do it earlier. The pictures on the website are beautiful but don't even do it justice. The hotel sits up on a cliff on a point so the views are spectacular. I got up every morning to watch the sun rise from our balcony. The pool was also wonderful but we spent most of our time on the "rocky beach" which is a platform down A LOT of steps but you can dive right into the clear, welcoming water. Dinner was an experience to remember with the experienced waitstaff serving an amazing dinner - I had a local fish that was de-boned and skinned right at the table in a matter of minutes. The breakfast also is not to be missed with all the fresh fruit and delicious dishes served on the terrace over looking the sea. We cannot say enough about the people who work there, it is obvious they take pride in their work and love not only what they do but where they live. There is also a shuttle to take you to Amalfi and a very user friendly bus schedule. We were in Europe for the Olympics and tacked this on to the end of our trip, but it is most definitely a highlight and the place I go to in my memories when I want to escape. As one of the other guests told us at breakfast one morning, we WILL be back...already planning for 2025.

Even before we arrived, the communication from staff regarding our rooms, amenities, arrival times and anything/everything associated with this spectacular venue was head & shoulders above all others I’ve experienced.
My friends and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the front desk staff knew who we were the minute we walked in the door! I don’t know how, but I do know that it took some serious effort to do that and we were all truly impressed at their diligence. Suffice to say, that every ensuing interaction with staff was every bit as impressive. They are all SO sweet, considerate, thoughtful and welcoming that no place else - in my experience - compares. If you like old-world service from some of the nicest people ever, this is your place.
The rooms are gorgeous with the most comfortable mattresses we could have hoped for and the views from every room are stunning. They feature plenty of closet space, modern amenities and impeccable décor, especially the tile and artwork.
We spent most of our time just relaxing at the pool, though there are manageable stairs down to the ocean, with a ramp for easy swimming access if you like. The Belvedere features an elevator to the pool deck, which really makes this hotel “senior friendly.” While none of us have trouble getting around, there are many places in Amalfi, where you really need to be shape to handle the walks, stairs and inclines... but not here – they really have it figured out for total comfort. The pool deck has all of the options one could ask for including some of the best sandwiches anywhere. Lunching poolside at the Belvedere will forever be one of the greatest joys of my life.
One of the other greatest joys will be the dinners at the Belvedere. While there is a set menu, I never tried it, because the chef prepares numerous delicious different specials every day and EVERYTHING we tasted was spectacular.
Our stay was five days and our one mistake was to go to what was supposed to be a top-flight restaurant nearby for dinner one night. Wow did we regret that! It was more expensive than the Belvedere, the service wasn’t nearly as good and the food wasn’t even close. When (definitely not “if”) we go back, we are never eating dinner anywhere else. BTW… if you see the bacon wrapped scallops on the menu, don’t pass, they are beyond description. Also, give the Ravello white a try. I’m a red wine guy, but that white is wonderful.
As for the dining room staff; I’ve never come across better when it comes to service, attention, friendliness and professionalism. If you get a chance to watch them de-bone a fish – it’s truly art. Oh, and they are also very English-friendly, though I did my best to speak Italian with them.
Breakfast was included with our room, and I’m pleased to say that it’s not the typical European carbohydrate-fest that so many other places offer. This was a delicious well-appointed buffet with something for everyone. Delicious eggs, side dishes and pretty much anything one could want for breakfast… and, of course, the magnificent dining room staff.
I’m not much of a cocktail guy, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t notice the wide variety of specialty cocktails available in their cozy and comfortable lounge.
At every turn the Belvedere oozes elegance and relaxation. For us, it was the perfect vacation spot. sI cannot recommend it highly enough and will absolutely return.

Recommended to us by someone a few years ago so we booked in after walking holiday. No regrets. We had sea view junior suite which was a nice big room and stunning views. Friendly and helpful staff all around the hotel. Two nights eating in the hotel perhaps amongst the best food we encountered on a 3 week trip in a variety of locations. Good pool and option to swim in the sea. Breakfast was good. The food and drinks fairly reasonably priced.

Difficult to give rating as I'm sure this is a very good place to stay on the Amalfi coast. Reception staff were all very friendly and efficient, the transfer service to Amalfi is excellent and the room was very comfortable . Lovely location and we were lucky enough to enjoy a couple of hours of sun by the pool which is beautifully appointed. The breakfast was fine, we eat there one night which was also fine if too formal and old fashioned for our taste. Anywhere else and you would say it was expensive but value for money on the Amalfi Coast is a difficult concept!

A lovely hotel with stunning views.
The drive from Naples airport to Amalfi is not for the faint hearted as once off the motorway the roads are very narrow with lots and I mean lots of hairpin bends. Would suggest you hire the smallest car you can that will accommodate luggage and passengers or get a taxi. But once you arrive the white knuckle drive is worth it. The views are stunning and the hotel retains an old world charm with many repeat guests. The rooms are clean and comfortable, plenty of choice at breakfast, snacks available round the pool and a different menu every evening in the restaurant.
As the hotel is perched on a cliff there are a lot of steps but there is a lift down to the pool. The hotel operates a shuttle bus to the town where you can pick up buses and ferries to other places along the coast and Capri.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return but probably by taxi next time!
