"I love the history and architecture of the cities but also love to be by the sea as I find it very relaxing. I have visited Tuscany many times and love the mix of cities, rural villages, and seaside towns you find there, and the food is amazing. Sharing my knowledge with customers and seeing what they enjoyed most after the holiday is the cherry on top."

Q & A

1. What was your most memorable holiday meal?

Amazing ravioli caprese at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria in Sorrento.

2. What is the best thing about being in Italy?

I love Italy as the regions are all different. The stunning views of the Amalfi Coast are hard to beat but then a walk by the river in Florence at night is so romantic.

3. Where would you love to go next, and why?

Puglia is a bit of an unexplored hidden gem, I think it would be nice to see what the difference is between the other coasts I’ve been to, the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento. I would love to explore the little villages with the trulli houses, like in Alberobello.

4. Do you prefer visiting cities, coast or countryside, and why?

I love all areas of Italy as they are all so very different. But my absolute favourite region is Tuscany, particularly the countryside where you find beautiful historic villages like Monteriggioni and Volterra.

Tuscany Holidays
I love Tuscany, I’ve been there on my own holidays a few times. The rolling hills and towns like  Monteriggioni and San Gimignano, they’re just so stunningly pretty. I had a friend who went a couple of years ago and she just kept saying how beautiful it was, she couldn’t get enough of it. We went in July and there were just fields and fields of yellow sunflowers popping off the green hills. It was sensational, and we’re going back this year because we loved it so much. In contrast, Florence is my favourite city, it’s so romantic, I love the river and the Ponte Vecchio. The city is so compact that you can get to most places on foot easily, so you can explore a lot of what the city offers in a short time.

II Borgo di Montereggi and II Casale, Tuscany Countryside
We offer many charming accommodations, but one of my favourite has to be Il Casale at Il Borgo di Montereggi. Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Il Casale features just six traditional apartments, each exuding authentic Tuscan charm. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the apartments are spacious. Although it’s only a five-minute drive to the nearest village, it feels like a secluded retreat. The scenery is breathtaking, and the pool is immaculate, with swifts darting down for a drink and eagles soaring overhead.
