How long have you been an Italy Expert and what do you specialise in?

I’ve been a Personal Travel Planner since 2017. I particularly enjoy putting together multicentre trips around Italy. It is such a diverse country with so much to see, and the train is such a great way to get around which means you can tick off more than one destination in a single trip! We can also include excursions in your itinerary to help you make the most of each area!

Hidden Gems

When enjoying beautiful Puglia, be sure to head to the bustling whitewashed town of Ostuni in the evening. With bean bags laid out in front of the bars on the windy paths and steps of the hilltop town, you can sit back and enjoy a delicious cocktail while watching people go by, with a magnificent backdrop of the countryside and sea in the distance.

Q & A

1. What was your most memorable holiday meal?

One of my favourite meals was on the little island of Capri! We went for a day trip from Sorrento, and spent a sunny afternoon eating delicious pizza, drinking limoncello from giant lemons, and listening to live music from a violinist.

2. What is the best thing about being in Italy?

The diversity of the country! From its historic cities or beautiful countryside to its stunning coastlines and lakes, there is always so much to see and do! And we also can’t forget all the delicious food on offer!

3. Where would you love to go next, and why?

Next on my list is Taormina, Sicily. It looks absolutely beautiful!

4. Do you prefer visiting cities, coast or countryside, and why?

I'm always drawn to the ocean. I love a relaxing beach holiday, wandering around little coastal towns, and enjoying great Italian cuisine by the sea. However last year we holidayed in the Tuscany countryside with my family, and it was beautiful! We stayed in a big farmhouse villa and there were so many pretty towns around us to explore! Plus, the wine was delicious!

My favourites

Scenic sight in Alberobello, the famous Trulli village in Puglia (Apulia), southern Italy.
Puglia Holidays

My favourite region is Puglia. It is incredibly diverse, yet one of the lesser-known areas. I went on the small group escorted tour Citalia offers and got to see so many different parts of the area in one trip. We explored beautiful towns like Alberobello, which is full of little Trulli houses, explored the stunning countryside full of olive trees, and also spent the day at a local beach. We also got to visit Matera too, which is so special, a complex of cave dwellings all carved into the mountainside!

Grand Hotel Victoria, Lake Como

We offer many stunning hotels, but one of my favourites has to be the Grand Hotel Victoria in the stunning Lake Como. It’s a stylish and modern property in a quaint town called Menaggio. It has the biggest spa in Como and is a perfect base to explore the beauty of the lake.

Another fantastic lake hotel is the Du Lac Et Du Parc in Lake Garda. It's surrounded by mountains, so the views are incredible, and the hotel grounds are stunning! Little rivers run through, and you can see the tiny fish and turtles swimming around!
